Best Backpacks For 17-Inch Laptops In 2022

There is currently a huge amount of laptop backpacks available right now. They range in price from under $50 to hundreds of dollars. Finding the best backpacks for 17” laptops is our mission.

Finding a backpack that fits your extra-large laptop is tricky because the majority are built for 15-inch laptops. Some are even advertised as large enough for a 17-inch laptop when that simply isn’t true. We have actually run into that problem several times.

Whether for work or school, we’ll help find a backpack for you. We’ve tested backpacks over long periods for specific, important features, like laptop sleeves, fabrics durability, and zipper quality and storage options.

When it comes to proportions, laptop backpacks (like laptops, themselves) vary, so whichever bag you choose, always consider the size of the laptop compartment. You’ll want a pocket that will properly hold your laptop, tightly and as safely, as possible.

What also varies, is the need for additional space from user to user. You may not need much more than a bottle holder, or you may need to safely transport headphones, cables, books, etc. Regardless of your needs, you’re covered, so let’s get right to it.

What Size Backpack Should You Get

If you’re planning on using your backpack everyday, and not for traveling, then size might not matter. You may want a bag that’s simply comfortable, fits your laptop, has plenty of pockets and compartments , and looks decent.

But when traveling, your backpack needs to fit certain size requirements. You’ll want to make sure your bag is no larger than 16 x 12 x 6 inches (40 x 30 x 15 cm) to fit under an airline seat.

Keep in mind, Backpacks obviously aren’t entirely firm, and you may still be able to use a larger backpack for traveling, as long as it isn’t overstuffed.
